Delivery and shipping

Standard products sold in the web store will have the postal cost added at checkout based upon weight and size. These use standard postal charges which are minimal to cover costs only.

The following applies to business or bulk orders.

We have standard competitive rates for parcels up to 25kgs (Each additional parcel that we need to pack your items into or any parcel over 25kg will be charged as a separate parcel) . Smaller items such as mugs and chopping boards and soft furnishings are shipped Royal Mail small or medium parcels . We will split shipments into multiple parcels to achieve the best economic shipping cost.

Where possible we will bulk items to achieve the best shipping cost. We are happy to discuss other lower cost services such as Hermes who may deliver out of working hours or other carries of your choice.

Products sold in the Villageretreat on line store have postage detailed in the catalogue and charged at checkout. For bespoke items , trade or bulk orders, the following gives our standard rates .

DPD up to 20kg 1-2 day delivery £10.00 including packing to mainland UK (excludes N.I and highlands & Islands) .

UPS up to 20kg £ 13.00 including packing to mainland UK (excludes highlands and islands and N.I)

Delivery

Unless otherwise agreed, orders are normally shipped within 3 working days although we try and ship same day or next day where possible. Where same day shipment has been agreed, cut off times for Next Working Day deliveries is 2:00pm Monday to Friday. Orders placed on a Friday (before 2pm) on a Next Day Service will be delivered on the following Monday (unless it is a Bank Holiday) and orders placed on a 48 hour delivery will be delivered on the following Tuesday. Please note, whilst we will always do our very best to ensure orders are delivered in accordance with these times, this is not a guarantee.

Subject to availability of materials at time of order. we may at our discretion agree to provide a rapid service which can be as little as an hour to same day depending on the volume required. As we are a family run business we have the flexibility to do this subject to other commitments. There will normally be a premium charged for this service which will be agreed at time of order.

So if you are in a hurry and in a fix for that exhibition or customer visit, give us a call and we will see if we can help.

Please bear with us, we want you to receive your order as quickly as possible but sometimes circumstances beyond our control can affect the delivery times. We will always endeavour to provide the best possible service we can using our local postal agents.

Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday may not be despatched until Monday (unless it is a Bank Holiday).

Important – Once an order has been collected by the Courier, Villageretreat has no control of the delivery process. Couriers will generally deliver between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. To avoid disappointment please ensure someone will be available to accept the delivery or discuss using a locker service with us.

Local delivery within 20 miles of our office can be arranged by prior agreement. Costs for this service can be discussed with us and is subject to availability.

At Villageretreat we do our best to ensure your products arrive quickly and safely and use new packing made from recycled materials where possible without compromising safety of your product in transit. However, breakages or errors can sometimes happen so please contact us if you have any queries or problems with your order immediately upon receipt. Claims for damage in transit need to be accompanied by photos of the damaged goods and packing so that we are able to deal with the courier . Collections from our Office

To save on time and delivery costs, we give you the option to collect your order directly from us in Purleigh Essex by prior arrangement. As we live on site we offer flexibility on collection . Please allow us the time stated to process, and pack your order before coming to collect. We will normally contact you via the email address provided on your order to let you know your order is ready.

If you are showing symptoms of Coronavirus or have been been in close contact with someone who is confirmed to have Coronavirus please try to avoid collecting from our office. Villageretreat will comply with Government direction at all times.
